Description: Hippopotamus group from above creating an amazing pattern. I took this photo from the helicopter when we were directly above the group. in addition, the pilot flipped the helicopter 90 degrees so my camera to be vertically over the hippocampus. The landscape was mostly grassland with the main river is flowing through.
These hippos gathered in a dry river. It was only a little puddle of water left. The whole river was dry. Name of the river Boro Jao river near eagle island camp in the middle of the Okavango delta. Pretty much no water was left besides that portion of the river. It was the dry season and the delta was, even more, drier than usual.
