  • Description: Segovia is home to one of the most important Roman aqueducts in Europe, which carried water until 1973. Its construction dates back to the beginning of the 2nd century, at the end of the reign of Emperor Trajan or at the beginning of Hadrian's reign. The most visible, and therefore famous, part of it is the archway that crosses the Plaza del Azoguejo, in the city where traffic is commonplace.
