The Nominations

The 20/21 edition of the annual Xposure International Photography Awards received over 23,700 entries across the TAPSA 20/21 and the nine categories of the Season 20/21

From each photography category, we compile the images nominated by the respective Juries and reviewed by the Awards Committee.

*Due to the postponement resulting from COVID 19 Pandemic and the fact that the Awards Ceremony will take place in 2021, we have changed the title of the Seasons to reflect the period 2020/2021.

TAPSA 20/21

TAPSA stands for Timothy Allen Photography Scholarship Award. The award will be offered to a total of 5 photographers who have entered a portfolio of images that represent the best of their work shot within the last 3 years.  This portfolio can comprise one or more stories or just a selection of single images.

Season 20/21

The FREE to enter International Photography & Film Awards is divided into nine categories. The panel of judges are looking to award an Overall Winner and additionally a winner and runner-up from each category including moving image & short-films. The Jury is looking for unique, exceptional and high-quality images.

SHJGOV 20/21

The SHJGOV is an open genre category specifically for employees of Sharjah Government because they are excluded from the main Season Categories. The Jury will adopt the same elimination and scoring criteria as in the main season categories.

Xposure is a leading photo festival and an official imagery and educational platform that combines a range of photography events including;  Exhibitions, Workshops, Seminars, Screenings, Focus Groups, Competitions, Photo Walks, and hosts a dedicated photographic and video production trade show.

We are passionate about photography and, we are dedicated to supporting the visual language in all its splendid genres. Photography is not about our tools or capabilities, it’s about our eye, and this is life. We are keen to recognise and promote regional and international emerging photographers and film-makers, and we offer free to enter competitions; providing a platform for photographers and film-makers to show their work and open the door to new opportunities.

Service to photography is not limited to taking stunning photographs but extends to editors, publishers, bloggers, researchers, inventors, promoters and all print and digital content creators that have had a positive impact on the industry and helped shape it to what it is today.

Xposure is a platform of art, the art of photography, and the art of observation; where the image represents a reality we may sometimes overlook.

The curation at Xposure is not done based on the best picture, rather based on compelling stories, achievements and tales about cultures and life.
